The company was looking for a solution to <strong>demould<\/strong>, lift, <strong>turn<\/strong> and translocate concrete wall elements. In collaboration with the customer and our agent in America, <a href=\"http:\/\/tact-netherlands.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TACT Netherlands, LLC<\/a>, we developed two vacuum lifters. Both devices are capable to handle 27 metric tons (60,000Lbs).<\/p>\n<h2>Demoulding fresh concrete<\/h2>\n<p>To\u00a0demould the wall elements, Aerolift developed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerolift.nl\/en\/vacuum-lifter\/\">vacuum lifter<\/a> which operates in combination with an overhead crane. Because of the divided surface pressure of a suction pad, it is possible to demould fresh concrete with limited internal strength. Vacuum technology offers even <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aerolift.nl\/en\/vacuum-handling-materials\/vacuum-handling-concrete\/\">more advantages<\/a> for concrete handling and assembling. Think of handling without the need of embedded hoist facilities.<\/p>\n<h2>Lifting and turning from the cabin<\/h2>\n<p>The other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerolift.nl\/en\/vacuum-lifter\/\">vacuum lifter<\/a> Aerolift developed is used in combination with a gantry crane during <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aerolift.nl\/en\/vacuum-handling-applications\/vacuum-handling-for-storage\/\">storage<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aerolift.nl\/en\/vacuum-handling-applications\/vacuum-handling-for-transhipment\/\">transhipment<\/a>. From the cabin of the gantry crane the operator has good view of what is happening below. With the vacuum lifter the wall elements can be lifted, moved and even <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aerolift.nl\/en\/vacuum-handling-methods\/vacuum-handling-method-90-degrees\/\">turned 90\u00b0<\/a>. All the actions can be controlled\u00a0by the operator. No one has to come near the concrete wall elements during handling.<\/p>\n<h2>What makes this project special?<\/h2>\n<p>Hans van den Tol, director Aerolift: \u201cThe extreme requirements. The vacuum lifters had to meet both European and American standards and regulations (EN &amp; ASME). Because of the heavy loads, the vacuum lifters required a large number of big suction pads. The dimensions and positions of these suction pads needed to be optimised to avoid the door openings and window frames.
