Last week one of our service engineers came back from an installation in the United States. He made some great pictures of the brand new vacuum lifter in action. The client, Northeast Precast, LLC, in Millville (USA) is going to handle concrete wall elements.
The device is designed to demould and lift wall elements up to 27 metric tons (60,000Lbs). Due to the special features of vacuum technology, even fresh concrete with limited internal strength can be demoulded and lifted. This is possible because of the divided surface pressure of a suction pad. The vacuum lifter is used in combination with an overhead crane.
Because the vacuum lifter is going to be used in America, it had to meet not only the European, but also the American standards and regulations (EN & ASME).
