We started the engineering phase for 6 vacuum lifting solutions for inside the tunnel boring machine (TBM). The customer Northern Heavy Industry Group (NHI) is a state owned company and one of the biggest TBM manufactures in China.
The vacuum lifting solution consists of 2 vacuum lifters. One vacuum lifter handles the tunnel segments and keystones from transport to the erector. During handling the segments are horizontally turned 90 degrees to meet the erector’s position. The second vacuum lifter operates as part of the erector. Due its 360 degrees turning capabilities the vacuum lifter is able to position both tunnel segments and keystones in the tunnel wall.
For the line from concrete to tunnel we developed several vacuum solutions. Not only for inside the TBM, but also for in production factories.
