To optimise the handling process of the concrete piles at the storage area, this customer chooses for an Aerolift handling solution. Concrete piles are mainly lifted by chains. The chains are attached by an operator. This is a dangerous operation with risk of life and limb. Especially when the piles are stacked high.
Aerolift designed multiple handling solutions for this kind of situations. All our lifting devices are custom made and designed for the specific situation of the customer. In this case the lifting device needed to be able to lift piles of different lengths and outlines. The final solution consists of four vacuum lifters, of which three various. We designed one vacuum lifter to lift the longest and heaviest concrete piles and a much smaller vacuum lifter to lift the shortest piles. The other two vacuum lifters are designed for every concrete pile in between. These identical vacuum lifters are just finished, tested and ready for commissioning.

To be able to anticipate on the different dimensions the lifting devices are provided with length and width adjustment. This enables the suction pads to be positioned closer and further apart. The length adjustment enables the customer to lift from concrete piles up to the 36 meters long piles. The width adjustment enables lifting of piles with different outlines, whereby the suction pads can be placed further apart or closer to each other, depending on the width which is required.
The complete handling solution is able to handle every concrete pile at the stockyard. The four vacuum lifters will improve speed, efficiency and safety. Contrary to lifting by chains, no one has to be near the piles to attach or detach the vacuum lifter. Moreover, Aerolift vacuum lifters are always provided with basic safety provisions. Unlike any other lifting method is a vacuum lifter provided with visible safety, visible and audible alarm and safety precautions in case of a power failure. We even developed several features to increase the safety for special circumstances.
