Lifting solution in the production of houses

The American company ONX Homes develops, builds, and delivers sustainable, high-quality homes. Their unique design halves the construction time on site. This company with a focus on a sustainable future in housing construction, approached Aerolift for a lifting solution to handle their precast concrete elements during production. Two completely different elements. Namely, the precast concrete T-beams which are used as foundation and the precast concrete cube shaped wall constructions of the rooms.

Cost-effective solution

Let’s start at the foundation, the precast concrete T-beams with lengths up to twelve meters. After production, the Aerolift vacuum lifter demoulds, lifts, and turns the T-beams 90 degrees. Next the T-beams are stored or placed on a truck for transport to the construction area. The vacuum lifting process requires no embeds and demoulding is already possible after 8 to 10 hours. Swift and very efficient. Not to forget, cost-effective, as there is no need to purchase pouring equipment.

Handling cube shaped wall constructions

This ONX Homes house design consists of a cube shaped wall construction, like a room without a roof. The wall thickness is only 50 mm, which makes the product in combination with the dimensions, kind of fragile and prone to breaking. A perfect job for vacuum. However, the shape demands an innovative design considering the fragility, leaving the construction undamaged. Moreover, there are different dimensions and cut-outs for doors which must be considered. Our design positions a suction pad on either side of the product. On which walls, depends on the door positions. The soft Aerolift rubber and divided surface pressure of the suction pads, ensure that the construction remains undamaged. To lift all the required dimensions the suction pads are easily adjusted in width. The Aerolift vacuum lifter demoulds, lifts, and turns 180 degrees. All in one movement. The entire operation is conducted by one operator.

Summarising: A lifting solution with great efficiency during production. Demoulding after 8 to 10 hours, no damage to the product, no embeds which require investment and mounting time. Entire operation by one operator.
